GreenPower Motor Company produces a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship vehicle, and can be adapted to suit a variety of applications. The design of the platform is based on a clear paper sheet, which allows for optimum placement of the battery and a lower center-of-gravity. This results in higher range/payload ratios.
green mobility My Mobility Scooters REEFERX is designed to meet the needs of mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated trucks in class 4 with a single wall structure inside and higher insulation than conventional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity and an industry-leading payload to allow for zero emission goods or passenger transportation.
GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will enable fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be capable of wireless charging at 75 kW.
We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours. We found it to be simple to drive and comfortable to drive over long distances. The EV9 can block the sound of traffic and wind driving along the highway. It is smooth on ruts and humps. The vehicle's acceleration is surprising fast, and it comes with adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one-pedal driving" simply by lifting off the accelerator.

The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully charged within three hours at home or using any commercial charger. Drivers can select between two modes of operation that include eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode is a preference for torque and cruise control and the sport mode maximizes speed and handling. Both modes are enjoyable to drive, and offer a unique experience for those who have never been in a vehicle with an electrical system before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicle offerings including a multi-purpose all-electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit bus, vanpool or paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower produces about 10 EV Star buses per month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 electric cars. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This will make them eligible for federal transit grants. Keep an eye on us as we follow the AV Star on its demonstration tour later in the year. We'll be sure to provide more information on this amazing electric vehicle!
